Sexual Health Myths Debunked
Myths about sexual health are way too common to not be addressed. Although we’re in an age where information is everywhere you look, there’s still so much left untouched especially with sexual health. So, listen up friend, because, in this article, I’m going to tell you 5 super popular sexual health myths and what the tea really is. Pay close attention.
Myth 6: You Can’t Get Pregnant When You're On Your Period
Some people think periods are a free window to have unprotected sex and get away with it - no pregnancies attached. That, my friends, is not the case. Although it's uncommon, you can still get pregnant during this period. How? Well sperm can survive and sit tight in the female reproductive system for days 4 to 5 days, to be precise.
If you have period sex close to the end of your period, and ovulation occurs early in the cycle, pregnancy is most definitely a possibility.
myth 7: The Longer The Better
The duration of sex is determined by the pair and the situation; there is no "ideal" duration. In fact, the widely sought duration of sex is said to be somewhere between 7 to 13 minutes, meaning that excellent sex isn't always longer.
Myth 8: Vaginas stretch out with use
Ah yes the infamous "having too much sex will make you loose." The vaginal canal is a muscle, and our muscles do stretch and contract. So when something is inserted into the vagina or when things come out, like a penis or a sex toy or maybe, a probe at the hospital, itl contact right back! If it's a baby, then it can be big enough to stretch out significantly. Even at that, vaginas still contact significantly after childbirth.
They don't necessarily lose their elasticity, but elasticity can change over time, with age, as production of estrogen decreases, which causes the vaginal tissue to get thinner or drier. That applies to all the muscles in our body. All the muscles in your body change over time.
