WHO Sounds Alarm: USAID Suspension Jeopardizes Global Health in 50 CountriesThe World Health Organization (WHO) has raised alarm over the suspension of U.S. foreign aid, which has disrupted critical health programs in 50 countries. Key initiatives tackling HIV, polio, and avian flu are facing severe setbacks, with clinics shutting down and thousands losing access to life-saving treatments.

WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus urged the U.S. to resume funding until alternative solutions are found, warning of potential disease outbreaks and treatment delays. Trump's decision to halt aid and withdraw from WHO has further strained global health efforts, reducing international cooperation on emerging threats. In response, WHO has launched emergency measures to fill urgent gaps, but experts stress that a long-term solution is urgently needed.
